About Me
Dr. Ajayakumar J is a dedicated pediatrician with a Fellowship in Neonatology from Amrita Institute of Medical Science (2022-2023) and an MD in Pediatrics from K S Hegde Medical Academy (2019-2022). He earned his MBBS from Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church College (2011-2017). With specialized training in the Neonatal Intensive Care from Amrita Hospital, Dr. Ajayakumar is adept at managing extremely preterm and extremely low birth weight infants. His expertise includes neonatal ventilation, resuscitation, and various emergency procedures, such as advanced airway management and catheter insertions. He has got special interest in PICU care and management. He is skilled in Paediatric resuscitation and diagnostic procedures like lumbar punctures and pleural fluid drainage.Before joining Smita Hospital, Dr. Ajayakumar served as a Consultant in Pediatrics and Neonatology at Sabine Hospital and Research Centre in Muvattupuzha since July 2023. Prior to that, he was a Junior Resident in Pediatrics at Justice K.S. Hegde Hospital from May 2019 to April 2022.Dr. Ajayakumar is committed to advancing pediatric care and has a keen interest in clinical and operations research. He has completed extensive training in life support, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and the Newborn Resuscitation Program. He also participated in a Point of Care Ultrasound Workshop at KAR-PEDCRITICON 2022.Passionate about his field, Dr. Ajayakumar is dedicated to improving health outcomes for vulnerable newborns and is actively involved in mentorship and training within the pediatric community.
