About Me
Dr Abey Thomas Babu is an expert Orthopaedic Surgeon with more than 9 years of experience in the field of Orthopaedics. He completed his MBBS from the prestigious “St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences”, Bangalore. He then did his M.S. in Orthopaedics from “Father Muller Medical College”, Mangalore. Dr. Abey then worked as an Assistant Professor at Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences for two years before moving to Kerala where he worked as Junior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Raihan Institute of Medical Sciences, Kottayam. He cleared his DNB Orthopaedics exams in 2016.
Dr Abey then went on to do a Post Doctoral Fellowship in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine (approved by the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine – ISAKOS) at Ortho One Orthopaedic Speciality Centre, Coimbatore under Dr David V Rajan who is a pioneer in the field of Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine. After his fellowship training, he worked in Lisie Hospital, Kochi as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon before joining Smita Hospital. His areas of interest include Knee and Shoulder Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine, Primary Hip and Knee Joint Replacement, and simple and Complex trauma surgeries. He has authored many articles that are published in reputed peer-reviewed journals.
